This Is Why No One Cares About Your Interior Design Website
Remember the good old days when the internet wasn’t really a thing?
People had websites, but no one actually looked at them. I mean, you had to sit there and get your modem doing its eee-oorrr-eee-oorr-eee-curich-orr sound so you could even go online.
Once online, you probably hopped into some chat room with randos talking about dumb shit.
Okay, it’s very much like today except we can get online instantly. And we do it all the time.
Interior design copywriting is very important for you to invest in if you want to convert leads into clients on your website. This means that if your website isn’t communicating your value to your people, it' is NOT doing its job.
Yeah, it’s okay to admit to yourself that ASID isn’t actually going to ever explain your value to the masses.
Anyway…
The words you use on your website are important. But let’s clarify what I mean by words.
There are words that nobody gives a shit about and words that sell.
99% of interior designers have words on their websites that nobody gives a shit about.
Here’s what you need to know about the words on your website.
No one cares about you, they only care about themselves.
Your website, like your home, is a place where you need to be the Hostess with the Mostess.
You need to tell people what you do, who you do it for and why you’re the only one for them. And you have to do it concisely. Word salad and lists of 50 services will not work.
Like everyone else who runs a business, trying to figure out what to write on your interior design website is hard. Especially when you’re not a copywriter.
You sit there and that damn blinking cursor just seems to mock you. Waiting for you to write something that you’ll eventually delete because you cannot figure out what you’re supposed to write.
Standing out online means that you need to communicate what you do, who you do it for in a concise manner. Bonus points if the words are personable and authentic.
Your logo, your brand colors, your font choices, your social media followers do not make you any more special than the other interior designers out there.
What sets you apart is your creative talents, your personality, and your specialized design service options. But none of that matters if you can’t convey any of that in the first place.
In a noisy world, filled with interior designers, you need to stand out.
You can only stand out when you speak to the world about the number one thing that they care about… which is themselves. And secondly how you can help them solve their' problem.
Copywriting does more than attract clients to your business, but it also helps you feel confident in selling yourself, you know the value that you bring and set you apart from the competition.
And that’s why I’m so excited to help you get that clarity on your website. You can pick up Write Your Interior Design Website will templates so you can finally finish your website or you can join us in the Society for our Copywriting 101 class.
If you’re tired of having a website that doesn’t explain to your dream clients why they must hire you, then now is the time to get the words on your website that sell.
