The Best Selling Advice For Awesome Interior Designers
If you've got your interior design services just perfect, your next task needs to be getting your client’s eyeballs on them. Your biggest ally in this is Google. But I don't mean hiring some creepy SEO company that guarantees you'll be on the top of the search engine results. I've always been leery of those companies (and I'm sure there are legit ones). I've been a DIYer all my life so let me share with you how to get your client's eyes on your hot services.
SEO is Your BFF
It sounds scary, and it's totally not. It has taken me quite a while to get the hang of it. When I first started out with my eDesign business I was guessing most of the time on what I was doing with SEO (search engine optimization). And somehow people still found me. All this is to say that even if you don't master SEO today, you will master it and doing yourself a great service by learning about it.
Think of SEO as building a foundation for your business. Every time you update your website with content Google takes note. Every time you save an image with the descriptive keyword your clients are looking for, Google takes note. Every time you post a blog about something your client wants to learn with a great keyword, Google takes note. That's why you have to update your website.
If you don't update your website Google thinks you died. Or at least that your business did.
Step #1 Research Your Keyword
What are you going to be writing about? Your latest room bedroom interior design service? Great. First, go to Google and use their keyword planner.
You'll have to log in (this is their AdWords tool) to get the results.
You'll then get a list of keyword ideas, how much competition there is for that keyword and other ideas for you to consider.
Step #2 Use Your Keyword
Now that you have your keyword selected, you've got to use it in your content.
You will want to use your keyword in your "Headline" (H1), the title of your page.
Use your keyword at the beginning of your page or post.
You will want the "Alt" tags of your images on your page to have the same keyword.
Interior Design Services Get Found on Google
See what I did there? I used my keyword for this post in my H2 Heading. When you write your sales page copy or a blog post about your service, make sure to fit in your keywords where they make sense. Don't "stuff" your page with the keyword so it makes no sense. Google hates that shit and will put you in the corner.
You don't have to hire out to get your interior design services found by Google. Its something you can do, it just takes work. I know, how annoying, right?
