5 Smart Ways to Monetize Your Design Blog

Affiliate Income

When it comes to ways to monetize your blog with affiliate income you have a lot of options such as signing up with a program like Reward Style, ShopStyle Collective, Amazon or ShareA Sale, etc. There's a bunch of them.

You could add a weekly "Get The Look" feature to your blog where you share your favorite picks with affiliate links for chandeliers, or pillows, or sofas... whatever you want to pick.

With those picks, you can create not just a blog post, but a Pinterest and Instagram image to share. And ya know people love those! Then you share them, bring them back to your website and you have an opportunity to get clicks on your links.

Ads

You can sign up for Google AdSense and place ads on your blog. You'll need substantial pageviews to make this profitable, but with time and great content, that shouldn't be a problem.

There are other ads that can be placed on your website with other players in the space that may require a certain amount of pageviews to join their program.

You can also sell your own ads on your website. If you're got a relationship with small businesses, they may enjoy the opportunity to advertise on your website. Know that you'll want to wait to sell ads until you can provide them with the benefits of exposure by purchasing an ad on your website in a Media Kit that you'll create.
