Attract High Vibe Clients To Your Holistic Interior Design Business

Not all eDesign businesses are holistic. That's why this isn't the post for them. There's room for everyone in the design industry, but I'm here to tell you that, very shortly, holistic interior designers will be the go-to resource for the people who are ready for a transformation.

A holistic interior design business runs in a very different way than any old run-of-the-mill design business. Holistic designers use their intuition, and their ability to tune into their clients needs to bring about a space that helps their clients change their lives in one way or another.

Non-holistic interior design businesses are very much about the functionality or the style of the space. For years, maybe even eternity, interior design has lacked soul. And I'm not just talking about the minimalist interiors.

When you know that your design work involves the soul and the divine, you just are incapable of just doing the data-entry design (you know, the people who want the Pottery Barn special with a side of Restoration Hardware) that reeks of commercialism.

To market your holistic interior design business, you need to speak and sell in a very different way because your success isn't measured only in dollars and cents. It's measured by the transformation that you and your client experience while you work together.

The Niche

Your perfect client could be an entrepreneur or a busy family. The usual demographics aren’t what we should be primarily concerned with. Here you need to go deeper and tap into the struggles they have - how they are trying to return to a state of homeostasis at home.

You hear it every day. There isn’t enough time, money, clarity, peace, love, x, y and z. You’re here to help them find what they need and then create the sanctuary in which they can feel like they can breathe again.

And no, not every space you design is going to be some zen-filled, Himalayan salt wall sanctuary. Depending on who your soul client is, they may recharge inside a game room or a library. Holistic design isn’t just about rainbow filled, singing bowl woo-woo spaces.

Holistic Interior Designers Are Lightworkers

If you’re not familiar with the term “lightworker” you may be questioning if you are indeed one. Here’s some signs to help you see that you are indeed a lightworker in the field of holistic interior design:

  • You’re here to work for the Divine and leave your ego at the door (yes, that means the degrees and certifications are strokers of the ego).

  • You’re here to serve others knowing that you are not better than or superior to others.

  • You are highly intuitive and your clients are amazed at your wisdom.

  • You’re extremely sensitive to energy and most likely an empath.

  • You’re likely to get strong impressions of people you don’t know for no apparent reason.

  • You’re excited to help your clients raise the energy vibrations within their spaces to help them love and support others.

  • At times, you don’t feel like you belong because you think differently than others in the interior design industry.

  • You’re constantly on a path of seeking a deeper self-awareness and growing.

Your Purpose

It's been said many times that as an interior designer, you're not just a designer, but a part-time therapist. That is key to your purpose and role as a holistic interior designer.

You know that when you listen more is when you will get the golden nuggets that will unlock the true desires of your clients that will allow you to work your magic on their home of re-aligning the energy within that helps them find the balance that they seek.

Your Message

Attracting high vibe clients means that you're going to kick the fear to the curb and say what you’re shy to come out with.

I get it; no one is talking about how to market holistic interior design online because it's still "woo-woo" shit. Mark my words, in 10 years or so, we'll have holistic interior design shows on HGTV. Give it 2 years or less and the “gurus” will start telling you their “strategies.”

Knowing that, at this point, holistic interior designers are slightly on the fringe, your message will seem quirky. Especially for your family and friends. It's not your job to explain (or even justify your message) to them; they aren't your clients.

The way that you speak about the work that you do will attract your high vibe soul clients - like moths to the flame. Think about it. How many designers are talking about the healing that can happen because of holistic interior design and also really means it?

A high-vibe client is seeking out someone exactly like you and do you know how hard that is right now? It's like finding a needle in the haystack. Everyone wants to market similarly because no one wants to get called out as a kooky-ass designer.

Share your message with the world. Even if it's weird, even if science hasn't caught up to what we know deep down, even if your industry friends think you're going to regret this. Even if. Your soul won't regret a damn thing when it helps people live a better life inside their homes.

Your Services

What services offer your clients will not be what we could say is the norm for most interior designers.

While you’ll need the basics (space plan, mood boards, renderings, etc) but you’re gonna add the energy aspect goodies.

Whether that is crystal healing, energy clearing, feng shui, reiki, color therapy, sacred geometry, etc. you’re offering a deeply personal and spiritual experience that will change people’s lives. This is just about the aesthetics and functionality of a space. It’s about the stuff that matters.

What I think is the most amazing aspect of holistic interior design is that when you share how transformational the work you do is, word will spread like wildfire that they must hire you because you can uncover what their soul needs. And that isn’t some shitty pouf 😂
