Online Interior Design Business Productivity Tips

To the outside world it may seem like I am either a Meth Head or never sleep because I'm just so damn productive. I don't do Meth, although that one time I was on steroids for an illness was interesting. Oh, and I also sleep.

What's my secret?

First, my productivity goes through the roof in the mornings. That's when I schedule my day to get my money making tasks done first thing when I'm at my best.

I learned that you need to market yourself all the time. You can't just do it sometimes and then pick it back up when it's convenient for you.

It takes your dream clients like 10 times to see your stuff before they even consider buying. Sometimes it takes up to a year.

So find that part of the day that you're at your best and make time for marketing. Every.Damn. Day.

Schedule Time Everyday

I spend the first part of my day writing. I write blog posts, then I create images for them. When the posts are ready and I've got the SEO work done on them, they get scheduled.

I used to post blogs once a week, now I'm trying twice a week. I'll see if I notice any difference in my business (the gurus say I should, but every business is different and that's why it's important to test things like this).

As my productivity increases, so do the numbers of the blog posts I have waiting to go out. The more posts I have ready to go the harder it has been to keep track of when they are all going out. I like to keep a consistent schedule so I'm organized but also to match when I get the most traffic to my site. I use another Wordpress Plugin called Editorial Calendar. I've tried a paid option before for this but I just didn't fall in love with it.

Schedule Social Media Updates

I have tried so many social media scheduling tools, and for the moment Buffer is Winning.  It's $10/month but it will post to my accounts on social media (sans Pinterest). I set up a schedule for each platform and it makes sure to get my content out there.

To make sure my Twitter account gets updated I have a Wordpress plugin called "Revive Old Post" that tweets out links to my blog.

Fail To Market Your Business Is  A Plan For Failure

You need to work on things that brings clients to your business. Blogging and social media updates are BIG keys. Do you have your plan in place to do this?
